World Farm Animals Day: What are the events in your community?
World Farm Animals Day -- Oct 2Please join the 20th anniversary observance of World Farm Animals Day at http://www.wfad.org/. We invite you to raise awareness about the reality factory farming in your community on or around October 2nd. Participating is easy! You can register as an individual or group and we'll send you all the materials you need. You can register online at http://www.wfad.org/ or call 888 FARM USA. Events can be as simple as leafleting for an hour or two, hosting an information table, bringing a veg lunch to your work or school, or doing a cage sit-in. You can also work as a group, perhaps try something as elaborate as street theater or a lifestival. This year's observance is sponsored by FARM, IDA and PETA. Go to http://www.wfad.org/ to find out how FARM and PETA are working together to combine WFAD events with the KFC campaign. Put your group and/or city on the WFAD map! We will list you on our online Events Directory and we'll contact the national media. Don't be left out! Farm animals raised for food represent 98% of all animal suffering, please help spread WFAD's compassionate message on their behalf. Check out the new banners in English and Spanish on the WFAD website. Special thanks to the Barcelona, Spain animal rights group, Animanaturalis, for creating the Spanish banners! Several mayors and governors have declared Oct 2 as World Farm Animals Day- check to see if your community is included! Click here to find or plan WFAD events in your community

Join Meatout Mondays and tell your friends!Over 2,500 people have joined Meatout Mondays, the weekly email campaign that contains a vegan recipe, new product reccommendations, inspiration, and veg*n nutrition facts. We would like to include your suggestions and ideas for recipes, products and nutrition. Email outreach@meatout.org and tell us what people are doing to spread the word about plant based diets in your community so we can include them as inspiration! Meatout Mondays is just one simple way we can help reduce animal consumption among our friends and families. The tremendous impact of daily food choices makes them some of the most important decisions we make about our own lives and about the planet. There are many things about the world that we cannot change, but each of us has the power to adopt a plant-based diet. A diet that celebrates life, not harms it— where each bite is a compassionate act that helps you live a longer, healthier life. We hope you join Meatout Mondays and use it as a resource to help you obtain more information and expand your food options. We also encourage you to invite your friends and family to join. Congratulations Sabina Fund Recipients! We received over 200 Sabina Fund applications this year and had to make difficult decisions about where to invest the funds. We are so grateful to all of the incredible grassroots organizations around the world who are promoting plant-based diets and reducing animal consumption. From humane education to street demos, to documenting animal transportation, to producing TV commercials, these groups show incredible innovation in promoting plant-based diets. Their links will be up on the FARM website soon so everyone can see the wonderful work they are all doing! Congratulations to the following organizations who have recieved seed grants for projects that reduce animal consumption in their communities.
Please contact Kelcey Meadows at 1-800-MEATOUT if you would like to contribute to the Sabina Fund and help grassroots organizations around the world do amazing things to promote plant based diets and reduce animal consumption. Click here for more information about the Sabina Fund
