It's World Farm Animals Day Kickoff Time

Begin planning now for World Farm Animals Day on October 2 (Gandhi's birthday)!

This year, we'll be taking to the streets with protests, funeral marches, cage-ins, die-ins, video screenings & much more!

The featured event is a die-in, where activists stage group deaths to represent the animals who needlessly suffer and die every day for food.  This visually powerful protest style was popular in the 80s as a form of nuclear protest and more recently to protest US involvement in Iraq.

Not your style? We're also looking for information tables, feed-ins, Veg Kit distribution, and classroom lectures.

Working together, we'll be a positive force for farmed animal liberation in all 50 states and two dozen other countries.

Make sure that your community is represented in this global effort!

We provide FREE display and handout materials, instructions, national registry, and media liaison. You provide a few hours and a lot of heart!

Events can take place throughout the month of October.  Begin October with an activity for World Farm Animals Day.  End it with an activity for World Go Vegan Days (Oct 27-29).  Both campaigns are jointly sponsored by FARM and In Defense of Animals.

Our new "Stop the Slaughter" black T-shirts, created especially for the WFAD 2006 die-ins, are only $5 for WFAD 2006 Event Coordinators.  Full price is $12.

Please visit our WFAD website soon to register your interest and to receive an Action Kit. You can always update your plans later.

AR2006 Stars

This space features key speakers at this summer's Animal Rights 2006 National Conference in DC.

Moby had a double platinum album with “Play” and a top 40 hit with “Southside,” won an MTV Music Video Award, and has been voted best dance/DJ artist of the year by Rolling Stone readers. He is also a strong advocate for animal rights and produced an album by that name. He receives the Guardian Award at AR2006.

Dan Piraro is creator of the cartoon feature Bizarro, which appears daily in over 200 newspapers, often with an animal rights theme. Recently, he has taken his comedy on the road with The Bizarro Baloney Show Comedy For a Cause. Dan has received an award at AR2004 & is showing his animal rights cartoons at AR2006.
