In the past three months, FARM reps published more than 400 letters to the editor on 5 topics in 185 U.S. newspapers. The topics included Meatout, water shortages, Earth Day, bird flu, and horse slaughter. Letters to the editor are the second most read section of the newspaper after the front page. They are a most effective vehicle for bringing our message to millions of middle Americans that we would not reach in other ways. Please contact us to join our Letters network or to obtain the full text of selected letters, or visit our Letters page. Since the beginning of this year, we have added three new members to our staff. Our new Outreach Coordinator Caroline Cherry has been employed as writer/editor for several local associations and serves as a board member of the Vegetarian Society of DC. Our Membership Coordinator William Sidman hails from New Jersey and gained his experience with the Nader for President campaign. Our new Office Manager Adam Ortberg has held several public interest positions before signing on.
